Nielsen Company states that – online sales are projected to reach all-time highs in the near future!

By 2012, overall online sales are expected to increase by at least 200 percent! That means that now is the perfect time to get involved in a home-based, online business of your own. There’s never been a better opportunity to start making money online. Since the beginning of the Internet, online shopping has done nothing but grow in popularity. For example, in 2008, a global survey by the Nielsen Company found that 85 percent of the world’s online population had made a purchase using the Internet. This number was up a whopping 40 percent from 2006!

In addition, in 2006 about 627 million people had bought a product online. By 2008, that number had increased to about 875 million. Also, by 2008 more than 50 percent of all Internet users had become regular online shoppers (that is, they reported making at least one purchase using the Internet every month).

While online sales increased by about 25 percent to 30 percent between the years of 2004 and 2008, Nielsen predicts that they will increase by an incredible 200 percent between 2008 and 2012!

What’s really important here, though, is that all of this adds up to a great opportunity for those of you who own your own home-based online business, or who are looking to get involved in the work-at-home industry. Thanks to the Internet, it’s just as easy for small, home-based business to be successful as it is for big companies.
